Travel Information (Including Ferries!)

For those coming from further south, driving around is an easy option. You can take the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (there is a one-way toll traveling south).

There are three ferry options: Edmonds to Kingston, Seattle to Bainbridge and Coupeville to Port Townsend.

The Edmonds to Kingston route is the easiest and most popular. Because of this, at peak times, the ferry wait can be two hours or more. Because of this, we strongly suggest that you plan to arrive at the ferry terminal before 4 p.m. to guarantee your presence at the ceremony. The schedule can be found here: http://www.wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/ScheduleDetailByRoute.aspx?route=ed-king

The Seattle to Bainbridge route is easy for those coming from Seattle or south of Seattle. This route also has wait times that can be 2 hours. Please plan to arrive before 3 p.m. The schedule can be found here: http://www.wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/ScheduleDetailByRoute.aspx?route=sea-bi

The Coupeville to Port Townsend route is a much less popular route but you can (and pretty much must) make reservations. It is convenient for guests travelling from the north. The drive will be a little longer, but a guaranteed space on a ferry is very convenient. The schedule can be found here: http://www.wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/ScheduleDetailByRoute.aspx?route=pt-key and reservations can be made here: https://secureapps.wsdot.wa.gov/Ferries/Reservations/Vehicle/SailingSchedule.aspx

Attire

Attire is semi-formal. The ceremony and reception will be held outdoors on grass, so plan your shoes accordingly. Weather in August can vary, but we will have a tent to provide sun shade or cover from the rain. Evenings tend to cool off and it could get breezy, so bring a jacket or sweater to keep warm.
